Clarity is an Oregon-certified Black- and woman-owned consultancy founded with the belief that inclusive and diverse points of view make for stronger storytelling.

Since 2018, we have worked with businesses, nonprofits and individual clients to solve problems and create effective messages.

When we engage with a client, Clarity’s team aims to not only meet their communications needs, but also transfer knowledge so that they can advocate for themselves and share their own stories.

We often tell our clients — regardless of the product, service or industry they represent — that when you try to reach everyone, you reach no one. We enjoy working with people from varied backgrounds to narrow in on their ideal audience and co-create stories that serve them well.

Our Values

Community is better than competition.

Our mantra is “cool s!#t, cool people.” That’s because the best work comes from strong partnerships with people and organizations who share our values.

Whether it’s our clients, our creative collaborators or the vendors we work with, we believe that you can’t do great things without inviting others along. That’s why we love working in Portland, Oregon, a.k.a. “Supportland.”

We’re not for everyone & that’s OK.

You can find lots of agencies that offer services similar to ours. That’s wonderful.

The clients who choose us — and stay for years — may come for the Big Names on our resumés, but they stay for our singular perspective.

Our point of view is intersectional, honest and rooted in a sense of justice that comes from lived experience. If you’re down with that, we should talk.

Closed mouths don’t get fed.

It took us a long time to get here, but we’re unabashed about asking for what we need to do our best work.
Don’t worry — it isn’t a diva-level rider for the green room.

What we need is open communication, mutual respect and an understanding that if the scope isn’t clear at the outset, we’ll work together to find and deliver on a shared vision.
