Energy Trust of Oregon, Brand Campaign

In 2021, Energy Trust — Oregon’s statewide agency for energy efficiency upgrades — partnered with Clarity for a brand campaign that it hoped would reach audiences traditionally not served by clean energy. The agency wanted to make an impact with rural Oregonians, non-native English speakers, people of moderate incomes and Oregonians of color.

Clarity delivered a multichannel campaign including digital, social, TV, print, out-of-home and radio advertising, with transcreation of many assets into Spanish. It was produced during COVID-19 lockdowns and with a tight budget for a campaign with statewide reach.

The “Find Your Fit” campaign’s goal was to increase equitable access to clean energy. Clarity encouraged the organization to do so by approaching its varied audiences with empathy and to position its offerings based on the benefits to the consumer. This was a shift from Energy Trust’s previous messaging strategy, which centered a message of collective action to help the state meet its clean-energy goals.

Throughout the campaign, the client reported strong delivery across channels — and every tactic delivered in full.  The campaign’s combined digital display effort had a click-through rate 72% higher than that of Energy Trust’s previous brand campaign, which was produced with a different creative partner.

On Facebook, the campaign’s English language audience’s cligh-through rate was 88% higher than the platform average, while the Spanish-language audience’s was 86% higher than average.
